U14 SL at Magic-POSTPONED & other race info.

Magic has just decided to POSTPONE the U14 SL event for Sunday (2/24) due to weather and safety. The new date is now March 2nd (Saturday), and will take place at Bromley.

This will be the final SVC qualifying event and the results will determine the SVC Standings and the SVC State Team and SVC Shootout team will be announced at the Bromley awards on 3/2.

The VARA Shootout event will take place on Sunday 3/3 at Pico. The Shootout will select the final group that will attend the VARA State Champs. The Pico Shootout is 1 run of GS and 1 run of SL.

ALL athletes will be asked to confirm or deny their participation in the VARA State Champs and Shootout at the awards ceremony at Bromley on 3/2. If you are NOT at the awards to confirm or deny your participation, you'll be pulled from the list.

If you make the Shootout on Sunday, you're expected to attend!! It's a event that you qualify for and is a fun event!!

There's a lot happening over the next few weeks, so please pay close attention to the blog!

U14 Plan-Feb 8-11, 2019

Congrats to the SWSC U14's for a great race at Stratton this past weekend! We had some great skiing and there is some noticeable changes in your skiing! Congrats to the crew that went up to Middlebury for the U14 MVC SG and had a fun race on a new and challenging hill. Lauren cracked the Top 10 with a 7th place finish! We still have a lot to do and more to learn and with just a SG and 2 slaloms left in the council season, productive time on snow will be critical. If you're not showing up with tuned and waxed skis, then you're not showing up ready.

The SVC SG Camp for this coming Friday (8th) has been CANCELLED due to weather. The forecasted rain and warm temps led us to cancel the event.

The Plan:

Please remember, we are meeting for each session at the GATE SHACK in the AM at 8:40am and 12:40pm. Please be on time!

Friday 2/8:     GS. FYI: There is no guarantee that we will have training. With the rain and super warm temps, free skiing may be the plan.
Saturday 2/9:  SG-AM, GS-PM
Sunday 2/10:  SG-AM, GS-PM
*The SVC U12 GS is taking place on Sunday at Stratton. 3 Forerunners are needed for each run. This is a good training opportunity. IF you want to forerun, email me. The first 6 people to email me will get to forerun (3 for 1st run & 3 for 2nd run). This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Looking ahead:

Friday 2/15:   SVC SG RACE at Stratton. Please pre-register for this council race. www.adminskiracing.com

With the SVC SG Race happening on a Friday, I'd like to offer a SG Session on Thursday 2/14. I need to know who wants to attend. **Please go to the Google Doc link to RSVP for the Thursday SG Training session. SG TRAINING 2/14

Monday 2/18:   SVC SL RACE at Magic.
Sunday 2/24:    SVC SL RACE at Magic. The Final SVC Series Race!

Get the skis sharp for the weekend!!
