It’s our first blog of the 18/19 season and I’d like to say hi and welcome back to our A-Team family! To all our new and upcoming A team squad- I say hello from myself and my A coaches- and look forward to a great ski year!
This season I’m super excited to have Megan Moores back coaching with me and pleased to add former A team skier Adam Kohutnicki to our A team coaching staff!
Megan is super knowledgeable about all the various idiosyncrasies of mogul skiing and aerials. She is a former NorAm A-team skier, very personable and helpful with all our athletes.
Adam has competed impressively on the A team circuit for three years and qualified backflips, front flips and off-axis maneuvers. Im really looking forward to his expertise at all our team events this year.
The A team is a real step up in abilities and commitment for athletes in the sport. That commitment is necessary and awesome to watch transpire and be put to use on the ski hill. One of the best parts of our A team’s training and competing is that it is very much a group effort! That being coaches, athletes and parents and am very excited about this year! I would very much invite you to check out my blog each week on our SWSC page. I will report on this page about upcoming activities, events, photos and information pertaining to our A skiers and our schedule.
Last minute opportunity... On-snow opportunity November 17-20 at Killington (Sign Up Required, Additional Camp Fee Applies)
This coming weekend we will be offering something new, an early season training opportunity at Killington. This four day training camp starts this Saturday November 17th running through next Tuesday the 20th. Cost is $100 per day and athletes can choose to train one day or all four days with us at Killington. This is not a required camp, but we have had interest in early-season training and are making it available to any and ONLY our A team athletes. We need to know as soon as possible If you would like to attend this training session. The camp will be a great opportunity for our athletes to get back their skis. This will allow us to start working on technical skiing-incorporating stance, posture and upper body movement. Also early-season edge work is huge benefit.
For anyone interested in attending this camp all they will need is bring their Ikon season pass which is valid at Killington. Otherwise Killington lift tickets can be purchased online at a discount, please visit Killington.com
or full rate at the ticket window on day of training.
So again, welcome to the A team and from myself and coaches, we look forward to a fantastic season!
